How to report

Hold the message to open its action menu and choose Report. Select the reason that fits best — harassment, scam, illegal content, or other — and add a note if the reason needs context.

What gets sent

The report includes the message content, who sent it and which group it appeared in. It does not tell the sender who reported them.

Reporting vs blocking

Reporting asks Orbit to review and potentially act on the content. Blocking is something only you control, and it stops that person messaging or DMing you immediately, regardless of what happens to the report.

The two are not mutual substitutes — use both when a message is both personally aimed at you and against the rules generally.

After you report

The message stays visible to others until review is complete, unless it is removed sooner for a clear violation. If the sender deletes the message after you report it, the report still goes through since Orbit already has a copy of what was flagged.

Can I report a message in a direct message conversation?

Yes, the same hold-to-report action works in DMs.

What happens if I report by mistake?

Nothing bad — reviewers dismiss reports that don't show a violation, and there's no penalty for reporting in good faith.

Can I un-report a message?

There's no undo, but a mistaken report simply gets closed with no action during review.
