Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Orbit uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies when you visit orbitgroups.online or use the installed Orbit app. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. Orbit also uses browser storage mechanisms that work in a similar way — local storage (to keep you signed in and remember preferences), session storage, IndexedDB (used by the messaging and push libraries) and a service worker cache that makes the installed app load quickly and receive notifications.

Categories we use

1. Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off from within the app. They keep your session alive, protect against cross-site request forgery and route your requests to the correct backend.

• Authentication session — stores your signed-in session token so you are not asked to log in on every page. Persists until you sign out or it expires.
• Security tokens — short-lived values used to verify that requests come from your browser.
• Service worker cache — stores app files so Orbit works as an installable app and can deliver push notifications.

2. Functional

These remember choices you make so the app behaves consistently. Blocking them will not break Orbit, but some conveniences will be lost.

• Scroll position and unread markers per conversation.
• Notification permission state and push registration identifiers.
• Whether you have dismissed prompts such as the install banner.

3. Analytics and performance

We use aggregate measurement to understand which pages load slowly, which features are used and where errors occur. This data is used in aggregate and is not used to build an advertising profile of you by Orbit.

4. Advertising

Orbit shows advertising on a limited number of in-app pages through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set or read cookies on your device to serve, measure and improve ads. Depending on your settings and location, these ads may be personalised.

• Google uses cookies such as the DoubleClick or NID cookie to serve ads based on your prior visits to Orbit or other websites.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at adssettings.google.com.
• You can review how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• Further opt-out tools are available at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.

5. Payments

Coin purchases and memberships are processed by Razorpay. When a checkout is opened, Razorpay may set cookies needed to complete the transaction securely and to detect fraud. Orbit never stores your card details.

Third parties that may set storage

• Google AdSense — advertising delivery and measurement.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery to your device or installed app.
• Razorpay — payment processing and fraud prevention.
• Our backend provider — authentication sessions and media delivery.

Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies at any time from your browser settings. Most browsers let you clear storage for a single site, which will also sign you out of Orbit. On Chrome for Android this is under Settings, Site settings, then Cookies and site data; on Safari for iOS it is under Settings, Safari, Advanced, Website Data.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies and storage will prevent you from signing in or receiving notifications. Blocking advertising cookies does not remove ads, but the ads you see will be less relevant.

Children

Orbit is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly use advertising cookies to profile children.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever the cookies or storage we rely on change materially, and the date at the top will be revised.
