How to report a group
Last updated
If a group itself is the problem — its name, description, pinned content or the way it is run — report the group rather than a single message. Group reports route to a different review queue than message reports and look at the whole space.
When to report a group
Report a group for things that are about the room as a whole: a misleading name and description used to lure people in, a group set up purely to scam or spam, hate or illegal content in the pinned info, or an owner running the group in a way that clearly breaks the Community Guidelines.
If the problem is one bad message from one member, report that message instead — it is faster and points reviewers straight at the offending content.
Submitting the report
Open the group, go to its menu and choose Report. Pick the closest reason and add a short note describing what you saw — reviewers act faster on reports with specifics than on a bare category tick.
What happens next
Reports are reviewed against the Community Guidelines, not against your personal preference for the group. Outcomes range from no action, to a warning to the owner, to the group being taken down and its owner restricted.
You do not receive a message-by-message account of the review, but repeated valid reports on the same group are treated as a strong signal.
Leaving while it's reviewed
Reporting does not remove you from the group automatically. If you no longer want to see it, leave separately from the same group menu — leaving is immediate and nobody is notified.
Frequently asked questions
- Will the group owner know I reported them?
- No. Reports are anonymous to the group owner and other members.
- Can I report a group I already left?
- Yes, as long as you still have the invite link or remember the group name; contact support@orbitgroups.online if you can no longer find it.
- What if the group is paid and I want a refund too?
- Reporting and refunds are separate. Ask about a refund through support directly, referencing the group and your payment.
