What your profile shows

Other members of a shared group or chat can see your username, display name, avatar and any cosmetics you have equipped. That's the full extent of what a profile exposes — it doesn't show your email, real name, or activity outside shared spaces.

Think about what you post

Photos, voice notes and casual details in chat can reveal more than you intend — a street sign in the background, a school uniform, a recognisable voice. Once something is posted in a group, anyone in it at the time can see it, even briefly.

Media in chat is served through short-lived signed links with download and right-click protection, which limits casual saving, but nothing stops someone photographing their screen — treat anything sensitive as potentially permanent regardless of these protections.

Use username, not identity

Your username doesn't need to be your real name, and there's no requirement to link your Orbit profile to any other account. Choosing a username unrelated to your other social profiles makes it harder for someone in a group to find you elsewhere.

Be proactive with blocking

You don't need to wait for a problem before blocking someone — if a member makes you uneasy, block first. Blocked users can't message or DM you, and you can review and manage everyone you've blocked from Settings at any time.

Can group members see my email address?

No, email is never shown on your profile or in chat; only username, display name, avatar and cosmetics are visible.

Can I hide which groups I'm in?

Group membership is visible to that group's other members but not published elsewhere on your profile.

Does leaving a group delete what I posted there?

Leaving removes your access, but messages you already sent generally remain in the group's history unless you deleted them beforehand.
