How to price your paid group

Last updated

Setting the right price for your group affects how many people join and how sustainable your community is over time.

Where pricing lives

In your group's settings, you can turn on paid access and set a coin amount tied to a plan such as weekly, monthly or lifetime. You can offer more than one plan so members can choose what suits them.

Setting a fair amount

New members arrive with 100 free coins, so pricing far above that shrinks your pool of first-time joiners who haven't bought coins yet. Many owners start low, build activity, and raise prices only once the group has a track record.

Consider what the group actually offers — exclusive content, an active voice room, a niche topic — and price accordingly rather than copying another group's numbers.

  • Lower prices widen your potential audience
  • Higher prices suit small, high-value or exclusive communities
  • Lifetime plans usually cost more than weekly or monthly ones

Changing prices later

You can adjust prices at any time. Changes apply to new joiners only; current members keep the terms they joined under until their plan expires or renews.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have different prices for different plans?
Yes. Each plan — weekly, monthly, lifetime and so on — can carry its own coin price.
What happens if I lower the price after someone joins?
Existing members are unaffected. The new price applies to people who join after the change.
Is there a minimum or maximum price?
Orbit enforces sensible bounds to prevent pricing errors, but within that range you have full control over what to charge.
