How link previews work on Orbit

Pasting a link into a message on Orbit usually generates a small preview card so people can see what they are about to click before opening it.
How previews are generated
When you send a message containing a link, Orbit fetches basic public information from that page, such as its title, description and a thumbnail image, and displays it as a card beneath your message.
Why a preview might not appear
Some websites block automated preview requests or do not provide the metadata needed to build a card, in which case your message still sends but shows as plain text with just the link.

Tapping a preview
Tapping either the link text or the preview card opens it, typically in a new browser tab or your device's default browser, outside the Orbit app itself.
A note on safety
A preview card makes a link look legitimate but does not guarantee the destination is safe. Be cautious with links from people you do not know, especially ones promising coins or prizes.
