How to leave a group you no longer want to be in

Last updated

If a group no longer fits what you're looking for, you can leave it yourself at any time without needing the owner's involvement.

How to leave

Open the group, go to its info page, and choose the option to leave. You'll lose access to its messages and any voice rooms tied to it right away.

What happens to coins you paid

Leaving voluntarily is different from being removed by the owner — there's no automatic refund for coins you spent to join a paid group when you choose to leave on your own.

Rejoining later

If you leave a free group, you can rejoin any time using the invite link. For a paid group, rejoining means paying the plan's coin cost again, the same as any new member.

Frequently asked questions

Will the owner be notified when I leave?
The owner can see updated membership in their member list, though there's no special alert calling out that you specifically chose to leave.
Can I leave a group and still see old messages?
No, leaving removes your access to the group's chat, including message history, until you rejoin.
Is leaving different from being removed for refund purposes?
Yes. The 7-day refund policy applies only to owner-initiated removals, not to members leaving voluntarily.
