Installing Orbit on Android

Using the install prompt

When you open Orbit in Chrome on Android, you'll typically see an install prompt, either in the app itself or as a browser banner. Tap Install (or Add to Home screen) and confirm.

Installing manually

If you dismissed the prompt or it doesn't appear, open Chrome's menu (the three dots) while on Orbit and look for 'Install app' or 'Add to Home screen'. This achieves the same result as the automatic prompt.

You can also find the option in Settings

Orbit's own Settings page includes an Install App option that surfaces the same browser install flow, useful if you can't find it in the browser menu directly.

After installing

Orbit opens from your home screen like any other app, in its own window without browser chrome. This is also what makes background push notifications reliable on Android, so it's worth doing even if you don't care about the icon itself.
