Following on Orbit is a lightweight way to keep track of people you find interesting, separate from actually sharing a group with them.
What following does
Following someone adds them to a list on your profile and can surface their activity, such as new groups they create or open up publicly, depending on their privacy settings.
Following versus group membership
Following is not the same as being in a group together. You can follow someone without sharing a group, and you can be in the same group as someone without following them.
- Following does not grant access to direct messages
- Following does not require the other person to approve it
- Unfollowing is silent and not announced
Managing who you follow
Your following and followers lists are visible from your profile. You can unfollow at any time, and the other person is not notified.
Follows and privacy
Following someone does not give them any special access to your account, coins or private information. It is purely a visibility feature.
