Getting started
Your first week on Orbit: a simple checklist
Last updated
New members who spend a little time settling in during the first week tend to get a lot more out of Orbit than those who join a dozen groups on day one and go quiet.
Day one: the basics
Finish your profile, confirm your username, and read our article on how coins work so you understand the difference between free and paid coins before you spend any.
- Add a profile photo and short bio
- Check your starting coin balance
- Enable notifications if you plan to use the installed app
Days two to four: find your groups
Join two or three groups rather than twenty. It is easier to follow a handful of active conversations than to feel lost in many. Read a little history before posting your first message.
Days five to seven: get comfortable with chat features
Try swipe-to-reply, react to a message instead of typing 'lol', and send a voice note if the group feels casual enough. These small habits make you read as an active member rather than a lurker.
Ongoing: safety habits
Know where blocking and reporting live in settings before you need them. It takes seconds to set up and saves stress later if a conversation turns unpleasant.
