Cosmetic rarity tiers explained

Last updated

Every item in the cosmetics store carries a rarity tier, shown alongside its price and duration. Rarity is a way of signalling how special or uncommon an item is meant to be, distinct from its category.

What rarity represents

Higher rarity tiers generally reflect more distinctive visual design and, often, a higher free coin cost. Rarity is shown on the item card in the store so you know what tier you're buying into before spending.

Rarity across categories

Rarity applies across all cosmetic categories — a frame, a chat bubble and a badge can each carry their own rarity tier independently. Two items of the same rarity aren't necessarily related beyond that shared tier.

Rarity and duration are separate

Don't assume a rarer item automatically lasts longer or is permanent — duration and rarity are set independently for each item, so always check both details on the item page before buying.

Why rarity matters to you

If you like standing out visually in groups you're active in, rarer items are usually a more distinctive choice. If you're mainly after variety, lower tiers let you own more items for the same free coin spend.

Frequently asked questions

Does higher rarity guarantee a permanent item?
No, rarity and duration are set independently. Check the specific item's duration before buying.
Can rarity tiers change after I own an item?
No, an item's rarity tier is fixed at the time it's listed and doesn't change after you own it.
Are rare items limited in how many can be bought?
The store page for each item shows any relevant availability details; rarity itself is a design classification rather than a stock count.
